Review
Depixel is one of the best default-themed texture packs that you can get. An increasing number of texture packs have been following in the footsteps of the classic default-themed pack, Faithful, each with their own twist on the genre. Depixel’s approach keeps in line with the default textures more so than another competitor, CreatorPack, however it’s willing to stray a little more from default in its fine details when compared to Faithful. The result is a texture pack that simultaneously feels very familiar to default, yet without feeling like a straight upscale due to its own unique art style that it’s added to the textures – giving the world a distinctly clean and tidy appearance.
Depixel’s approach has clearly struck a chord with the Minecraft community, as it has experienced a tremendous amount of success on all platforms that it’s been posted on. It’s a hard task to match up to the legendary Faithful, but Depixel has certainly accomplished just that. It comes recommended for those who want a prettier, more detailed version of the Minecraft they already know and love.
