Review
Clarity strikes a fine balance between a clean, default and a rustic, medieval aesthetic, potentially allowing for the best of both worlds. It gives the game a generally dark and rustic appearance, though not to the extent of specifically medieval or RPG themed texture packs such as Conquest. Unlike those packs, it's still looks clean and modern enough to be suitable for other various styles of builds, making it quite flexible.
Being 32x, the detail is much higher than the default 16x, while still maintaining a pixelated appearance. 32x is a classic resolution shared by many similar packs. That said, it's oldschool in its approach, in that it lacks extra features that some other recent packs offer: there isn't POM support to give depth to the textures when using shaders, there are no connected textures, and there aren't custom models. It does however have a nice subtle skybox when used with the appropriate mods.
The closest comparable pack to Clarity is probably Epic Adventures, which aims for a similar fantasy/medieval and semi-realistic aesthetic, but which has more features such as connected textures and custom entity models.
However the lack of bells and whistles isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it means that it stays in keeping with the standard Minecraft look, and is easy to play with and adjust to. These factors make it a good option for general-purpose gameplay, depending on your stylistic preferences. Clarity is a good option for those who find explicitly vanilla-styled packs (such as Faithful or CreatorPack) to not change the game's appearance enough, but who find packs such as Epic Adventures or John Smith Legacy to stray a bit too far from the base game.
